Do you ever go to the library to get some work done? I'm not sure if it's more effective or not, but I've felt less than productive lately, so I thought it was worth a try. I did actually get five pages of work done, so that's something. After this little break, I'm hoping to finish three more pages.
Meanwhile, check out this poem by Lorine Niedecker that someone painted on a brick wall. Photo by Andy Wallman.
OK, three more pages...!

If you've got family bugging you at home, getting away to the library for a couple of hours would be an ideal way of getting things done without any interruptions. I don't think I could have done this when I was taking care of my husband Bill. I couldn't leave him alone for more than a couple of hours because he couldn't do much for himself. He would have resented me taking off for a couple of hours to get work done when I have a perfectly good office, but I should have tried it. Now that he's in a better place, and I'm home alone, it seems ridiculous since I have few distractions.
